Setting up a home recording studio is a great way to get your music recorded and ready for distribution.

However, it’s also easy to get caught up in all the details of having a recording studio, and forget about the music.

Maybe you don’t forget about the music entirely, but it can get pushed to the background. This isn’t bad if you’re just an engineer, but it can be bad if you are a recording musician.

If you don’t have a great song, you can’t make a great record. Um yeah…it doesn’t take a genius to figure that out, right? Well, you’d be surprised at how many people forget this.

I’m no exception to the rule. Yes, I have gotten caught up in the world of recording gear – thinking that if I only had a certain piece of gear, my songs would be a lot better.
