There's no trick! We're right in the middle of the city. From I-10 on the north side of Tallahassee, or from points South, East or West, Garages on Gaines is at the hub of the wheel, with several arteries converging on our little neighborhood! From a distance, look for the unique State Education Building, and we are just three blocks from there.
BY BUS: FIND A RIDE
Several STAR METRO bus routes also stop right at our intersection.
BY TROLLEY: FRIDAY AND SATURDAY NIGHTS
On Friday and Saturday nights, the city of Tallahassee operates the FREE Rhythm Route Trolley service that connects College Town, All Saints, Downtown, and the Midtown districts, from 6pm-2am.
BY BIKE: FIND A TRAIL
If you are on bicycle, the St. Mark's Trail starts right in our neighborhood, and will bring you all the way from the Gulf of Mexico! (And soon all of the trails in the area will connect right in our area.) The scenic Capital Cascades Trail connects Cascade's Park and points to the northeast with our neighborhood as well, dropping you off just two blocks from our door on FAMU Way.
Parking is all around us! There is free parking on streets, in nearby parking garages, and on nearby surface lots. Most garages offer free parking on nights and weekends, but require permits during business hours or during special events, so please read signage carefully.
THE O'CONNELL LOT
There is also a surface parking lot just three blocks away for night and weekend free parking! It is at the intersection of Gaines Street and Bronough Street, across the street from the State Education Building.
