I’ve had subscriptions to numerous recording magazines over the years and have to say that the one I like most is the one I don’t have to pay for.
If you love getting free things, which most of us do, you might want to head over to TapeOp.com and sign up for a free subscription to start receiving their great recording magazine.
It is published bi-monthly, so you’ll only get a new magazine every two months, but it’s worth the wait. It’s full of great articles, interviews, and reviews.
The only bad thing about Tape Op is that they send the free subscriptions out through third class mail, and it’s not guaranteed to reach you.
Actually, on their FAQ’s page they mention that 2% of the magazines get lost in the mail every issue. Bummer if yours is in the 2%.
Though, I’ve had great luck in receiving every issue so far. I just received an email to renew my subscription for another year, which I quickly responded to.
If you’re worried about missing an issue, Tape Op also has a paid subscription where the magazine is guaranteed to get to you (first class mail).
At any rate, it’s a great magazine to check out. I’ve learned quite a lot about recording from reading it.
While other magazines (MIX, Recording, EQ) are progressively getting slimmer, Tape Op manages to keep giving the same amount of content…for FREE!
Did I mention that it’s free?
Anyway, if you would like a free subscription to a great recording magazine, check out TapeOp.com.
